Pilots wear night vision goggles to fly their C-130 Hercules in darkness. ..A C-130 Hercules from 40 SQN is flying out of Base Woodbourne this week for Exercise Nocturnal Reach.  This exercise tests the crew’s proficiency in tactical flying, dropping loads and night flying with night vision goggles, so they’re ready to assist in resupply, humanitarian aid and disaster relief or search and rescue operations whenever required by the New Zealand Government.
